Marcia Harvey

Marcia Harvey is an African-American authorwho is more well-known for her ex-wifeship with comedian and host, Steve Harvey. Deciding largely to stay away from the attention of the media, she leads a very private life. Steve was never able to achieve the same success as he has now, but they were married for 14 years. It is unknown what caused the breakup, but Hollywood has heard rumors about the split. Some believe it was due to Steve Harvey's cheating ways and some to his choosing an alternative career path to comedy. The tragic story of her life can be attributed to Steve's denial of her as well as her daughters when she was pregnant with her third child. Despite her struggles she's managed to build an excellent career in fashion design and writing. Her books include "Marcia: Eyes To The Soul', "Marcia Poems From The Heart', and 'Marcia: Thoughts From My Mind'. Her kindness has been an inspiration to her kids. Marcia Harvey was raised in an African-American home and has a poor financial situation. She began her career at the department store "Saks Fifth Avenue'. She met Steve just a few years later at a mutual friend's reception event. They were in love, and they were married in 1980. Steve was an insurance agent in the year 1980. The couple were blessed with twin girls in 1982. However, at that point Steve was already beginning to become disillusioned by his job and wanted to make his own entertainment business including stand-up comedy, particularly stand-up. Marcia and Steve were in a lot of disagreements and later reports suggested that they were beginning to split up. Much of Marcia Harvey's fame was due to her marriage and divorce to Steve Harvey. While the circumstances that led to the divorce of Steve and Marcia in 1994 have been kept a secret but there is no doubt that Marcia was pregnant with their third child, when the marriage fell apart. Marcia eventually filed for divorce on the 23rd of March 1993. Marcia was forced to do so by Steve Harvey's refusal to pay any alimony or child support following her divorce.
