Emma Stone
Emily Jean "Emma" Stone was
born on November 6, 1988 in Scottsdale, Arizona to Krista Jean Stone (nee
Yeager), a homemaker , and Jeffrey Charles "Jeff" Stone, a
contracting company founder and CEO. She is of Swedish, German and British
Isles descent. Stone began her acting career in her youth as an Valley Youth
Theatre member in Phoenix, Arizona. She first appeared on stage in the play of
Kenneth Grahame "The Wind in the Willows." As a teenager Stone
performed in of numerous stage productions before she made the choice to make
acting her career. Informally, she developed a PowerPoint presentation,
supported by Madonna's "Hollywood", and entitled "Project
Hollywood", to convince her parents that she should quit school and move
to Los Angeles. She and her mother pitched the pitch, and then moved to LA. Her
education was done at home, and she would spend the rest of her time performing
auditions. She had her TV breakthrough when she was awarded the part of Laurie
Partridge in the VH1 reality show based on a talent show In Search of the
Partridge Family (2004) which resulted in a variety of smaller TV parts in the
subsequent years. Her movie debut was as Jules in Superbad (2007) and, after a
string of impressive performances, her lead role in the film Olive in Easy A
(2010) established her as a star. Her school was Xavier College Preparatory in
Phoenix, Arizona. Although she's a redhead her natural hair shade her hair is
blonde. Judd Apatow suggested that she alter her hair color to suit Superbad
(2007). She was so in love with it, she chose to keep the color. When she was
15years old, she convinced her parents to allow her to move to Hollywood by
putting together an PowerPoint presentation that was appropriately titled
Project Hollywood. She began her career in acting at the age of 11 age at the
Valley Youth Theatre in Phoenix, AZ, where she played in over 16 stage
productions , as well as acting in the comedy improv troupe. Caylee Cowan was
also acted in the Valley Youth Theatre.
